Moving from Cal.com to QuantiMeet
Our importer moves a team's setup from Cal.com, so nobody has to retype it. We run it for you, on request. Here is what it brings across, what stays in Cal.com, and why.
BetaWe run the importer for you, before and after the public launch on October 20: email info@quantimeet.com once your team has its QuantiMeet account.
What comes across
Your event types
Title, link, length and description, with your buffers, minimum notice, booking limits and booking questions. The report before the import names anything that changes on the way or cannot come across.
Your availability
Your working hours, with their time zones and date overrides.
Your existing bookings stay in Cal.com until they happen
Recreating a booking in QuantiMeet is not invisible to the person who made it: they would get a second confirmation for a meeting they already have, with a different video link, and it would show up twice in your calendar. So we move your setup, and your existing bookings stay in Cal.com until they take place. New bookings come to QuantiMeet from the day you switch your links over.
The plain version: keep your Cal.com account until your last booking there has happened, then close it. Past and cancelled bookings stay in Cal.com as well.
What does not come across yet
- Your users. The people in your Cal.com team stay in Cal.com. The importer brings your event types and availability.
- LiveTeam event types (round-robin and collective). QuantiMeet has its own round-robin and collective events, but the importer does not bring yours across: you set them up again in QuantiMeet.
- BuildingWorkflows, such as follow-ups and triggers. QuantiMeet sends its standard booking confirmation and cancellation emails. Reminder emails 24 hours and 1 hour before each booking are in beta.
- BuildingRouting forms. QuantiMeet does not have them yet.
- BetaCalendar connections. A connection is a sign-in to Google or Microsoft and cannot be moved, so you connect your calendar again in QuantiMeet. Google Calendar and Outlook sync is in beta.
- BuildingPayments on bookings. QuantiMeet does not take payment on a booking yet, so a paid event type comes across hidden, and nobody can book a paid session for free by accident.
- LiveWebhooks. QuantiMeet has its own webhooks, but the importer does not bring yours across, and never reads them: you add them again in QuantiMeet, on each event type's Webhooks tab.
What changes on the way
- LiveVideo. A Zoom, Google Meet, Cal Video or Microsoft Teams location becomes QuantiMeet video, which is included and runs on our own servers.
- Links. Your booking links move to your team's own address at quantimeet.com. A link name with capital letters or underscores becomes lower case with dashes, and the report before the import lists each one.
How an import works
- You create a temporary access key in your Cal.com settings, under Security. Give it the shortest expiry Cal.com offers.
- We read your account once, into an export file, and tell you when that is done: you can delete the key straight away. We never read your bookings or your webhooks.
- We show you a report before anything is written: every item that comes across unchanged, every item that comes across with a change and what the change is, and every item, or kind of item, that does not come across and why.
- You decide. Nothing moves until you say so.
